One of the exceptionally fine aspects of HDTV is that most programs are broadcast with a 5.1 channel surround soundtrack. Panasonic SC-PT660 is an easy way to enjoy it. With the Wireless Kit for Rear Speakers (SH-FX67 sold separately), no cables mean no clutter. You can also expand your music listening into three additional rooms with the wireless multi-room speaker kit (SH-FX85 sold separately). Play your favorite music from your home theater's built-in hard drive in your living room and listen to it in your bedroom, in the den, or even in the garage. The front pair and center speakers are simply wired to the receiver that also has a DVD changer and an AM/FM radio. With 1000 watts of RMS power, home-theater is fully realized. Sit back and enjoy.
The built-in Universal Dock for iPod gives you a great new way to enjoy music and (composite) video. Just slip your iPod into the cradle and enjoy. The dock charges your iPod, allows you to use the home theater remote to control the iPod, has on-screen audio menus, and also plays back iPod video. Got a Panasonic Viera TV? VIERA Link displays a menu on the TV screen, making it easier to operate your connected home theater system. Whatever HDTV you own, it's time to upgrade your sound and the Panasonic SC-PT660 is the best way to start it up. Customer Review: Good Choise
I wanted something relatively small and easy to use (like a Bose), but refused pay major Bose $$ for a product with a poor reliability record. The Panasonic is easy to set up and sounds great. Also purchased the Panasonic SH-FX85 Wireless Multi-Room and it also meets my expectations.
Customer Review: Needs more volume!
The receiver plays all DVds with no problem, and it has a decent sound, but that's where it ends. The sub is very flimsy with distorted bass. As for the wattage it does good to put out fifteen watts total. My TV gets much louder. Unless you live in an apartment with old folks all around you I would not recommend it.
